Read the warning
⛈️ Weather Does Not Negotiate
Different hazards require different actions. Learn the difference before the alert sounds.
Watch = prepare. Warning = act.
TornadoLowest floor, interior room, away from windows. Get low, protect your head.
HurricaneUse the warning time. Follow evacuation orders. Leave before roads and fuel disappear.
WildfireDon't wait to see flames. Take people, pets, medication, and the go-bag. Leave early.
FloodNever walk or drive through floodwater. Turn around, find another route.
Heat and cold — danger signs
Heat exhaustion: heavy sweating, weakness, nausea, cool/clammy skin — move to cooler place, cool wet cloths, small sips of water.
Hypothermia: uncontrollable shivering, confusion, slurred speech — move to warmth, remove wet clothing, warm the torso.
Call 911
Heat stroke (confusion, unconsciousness, very hot skin) and worsening hypothermia are medical emergencies. If unsure, call 911.
